Hey guys

Today I received my replacement iPhone 3GS from Apple, as my original had the cracking problem. I really want to jailbreak again, but I'm unsure as to whether I can after Apple updated the bootrom.

It's a week 42 device, if that helps at all.

Thanks in advance.

You can determine your own bootrom here

Then you will know if it's a tethered or un-tethered jailbreak.

True, I'd prefer an untethered JB basically 😛

So would everyone who's stuck with new bootrom.

Do what I did, buy a slightly used but pristine 3GS with old bootrom from Craigslist or Ebay and sell the new 3GS. Just about a break even deal.

Luckily I have the old bootrom (at least according to System Profiler) - I'm amazed, I was certain that this long after the change I would've gotten the new one. Thanks for all the help! 🙂
