Could someone whose done this provide some insight? Can't tell if the new touchpad I put in is defective, or if the damn cables aren't connected. The LCD output when turned on looks fine. Everything seems to be working, but I can't slide the bar. The damn cable 1 doesn't click in, and gives a flat bright screen on some attempts to get it in, so I might still not have it in correctly. Could another cable not be connected right? I can't tell if I should just send it back or keep tinkering.

It is not necessary to have such fragile material in this damn thing that it can't survive a small drop. Why make a face that will shatter that easily unless you want to screw your customers?

The connector will click in if you have it in place correctly, they are long enough to be connected with the device opened all be it awkward.

Where did you purchase the parts from? If the connector isn't clicking in, it clearly wont work.

Maybe take a photo of what it looks like currently so I can see where you could be going wrong.

Ok, so the LCD doesn't do the input. That's the digitizer, apparently. Maybe that's why its called the "digitizer"? The damn cable 1 is to the LCD, and so long as its in, that works. Maybe I damaged the digitizer, or the glass isn't sitting on it properly? Maybe I just need to buy a glass and digitizer assembly?
