Replacement Mac Pro coming- Need help on how to transfer data

Do what Orange said and the system will be identical to your old system. You might lose a few settings but iMove and iPhoto will be 100% cloned. The settings that are possible to lose are the ones running while you're cloning. For example I lost my Little Snitch database because I forgot to shut it down. But so for that's all. Everything else is 100% identical.

I just did a carbon copy clone and everything worked great. Now the only thing is that every time I boot the system I get a black screen with many white words that loads up OSX. How can I get rid of this? Is it normal.

Will migration assistant put the iPhoto pictures into iPhoto and the movies made in iMovie on the old system onto iMOvie of the new system.

Aslong as you transfer the whole user accross. I have done this twice.
