Replacement tips for Bamboo stylus found!

Thanks for the post ReallyBigFeet. I checked out MacMall and it says they will let me know when they have some available, so I guess they are also out-of-stock! On a whim, I checked on eBay and whamo! There are about a half-dozen vendors who have plenty of the nib packs to sell. So I was able to purchase a pack of three for double the price on the Wacom Website and that was the cheapest available. Many of these vendors were asking triple the price plus shipping of at least $5, making the nibs four times the price as on Wacom's Website. I am a bit disappointed, but the laws of supply and demand seem to be in effect, as Wacom allows people to purchase 5 packs at a time and they care sell them as they please. Free enterprise and all; that's capitalism, isn't it?

^^ Those eBay Bastids! I guess we now know why Wacom has a 5-limit purchase and still can't keep them in stock!

For those people ordering FIVE packs of replacement nibs at a time, why not order ONE and let some of the rest of us get our replacements???!!!

Sorry, man, that sucks. I'm one of the guilty ones, as I did order five packs of nibs. BUT, like you, I've also been waiting for about six months for these replacements and I was determined to not wait again. Since no one told me they'd run out so quickly again (in like a week!), and I'd never ordered them before, I just figured I'd stock up in case they had another shortage in the future when I'd need them again. Fortunately, I check MacRumors daily, and I'd been following this thread very closely, waiting for news about this particular product. When the news came out, I jumped on it and ordered right away. If you'd really been waiting that long, and you're a MacRumors member, it's a little puzzling how you missed this. Oops. I bet you won't let that happen again!

So, while I do empathize with your plight, you must realize that when products like this are in short supply, it's not really the responsibility of people like me to make sure other consumers are satisfied. Why would I care whether strangers on the internet are able to buy enough products for themselves, when I've been waiting for six months BECAUSE strangers on the internet bought up all of these things at that time! No one cared about me. Do you think when "Tickle Me Elmo" was flying off the shelves 20 years ago, moms and dads were cutting back their purchases so other strangers could buy one? I don't think so. It's the responsibility of the producer (WACOM), to make more nibs!! You should not be complaining to me, but rather to them (or their customer service dept.) and explain some of the basic rules of supply and demand.

"Dear Wacom: There is a tremendous demand for your Bamboo nibs, and you never seem to have them in stock. In order to correct this and actually PROFIT from it, you have a few options. First, consider limiting customers to ONE pack of nibs each, rather than five. That way you won't run out in one week. Second, consider raising the price on the nibs to ease the demand a little (and make some more money). Or third, simply produce more nibs and sell them, which would also make you more money. I can not understand why you would continue the terrible business model you're following at this time, as it is clearly not an efficient way to maximize your profits or satisfy your customers."

Hope that helps.

Anyone know if there's a warranty on the tip? I've had mine for about 1.5 months and just through normal use it split...and I'm one to baby my toys. Seems like it should last a little longer than that in my opinion.

It's about making money. The light bulb was designed to burn out. Why? Economics my friend.
