Good grief, did I just get a bad computer or is this normal?

I have a 2010 MacBookPro 15".

Two weeks ago the battery was replaced.

Last week the hard drive went out. Apple replaced it.

Today my charger died.

I do have AppleCare and am glad I purchased it, but I have friends with 7 year old Apples that have never had any issues.

I even thought of not bothering with Applecare but I am sure glad I bought it.

But it has me worried I may have problems when Applecare runs out (Feb. of 2013.)

This is my first Apple, although I have purchased a few more products since this one.

No this is not normal. Most Apple products are well known for reliability and build quality. If the machine develops further issues you are well within your rights to ask for a replacement.

Charger actually came back on today, but it is super hot (can't even touch it) and makes a weird buzzing noise.

I will call Applecare tomorrow and see if they can replace it. It seems to overheat and shut off.

I wish you could purchase extended Applecare (beyond the 3 year mark) as I only have one year left on Applecare.

Unplug it, take it off, and dont use it. Its gone bad, and its a fire hazard. The inverter in it has gone wonkey, and its getting way too hot, and could potentially damage your mac too, and start a fire.

It's normal for the MagSafe adapter to become very hot to the touch while charging. The buzzing noise, however, is not normal. Send it back.
