Replacing 27" RAM?

Hi guys
About to pull the trigger on maxed out 27" iMac but going to replace the 8GB with 32GB myself,

Should I be "earthed" somehow to stop static while replacing the ram?
I've seen the wristbands on the net but would not know if that band would have to be earthed somewhere?

Any need for the above or just overkill?

Just an overkill imho. I have done this myself without any problems.

Did it myself and was not "earthed". Easy to do. Took me less then 5 minutes.

Agreed. Just touch the outside of the case of the iMac first, or some other metal object, - to ground yourself, and then just swap away!
