Hi All,

I've had macs for 30+ years and for the most part I've chucked Apple's mice out the window. I'm shocked people can use these things. I find them uncomfortable and it truly feels like design over function. I like the keyboards but the mice? YIKES!

My goto for it seems like forever was the logitech M705. Sadly logitech for whatever reason decided not to make a unifying usbC unit. Soooo, since I'm upgrading computers I was going to give bluetooth mice another try (first was when bluetooth was fairly new and that was horrible; but duracell loved me).
In the last year, I tried the MX master and it didn't "fit" as nicely as the M705. It wasn't bad but.... Any other suggestions? It doesn't have to be logitech.

Thanks,
Philly

I'd stick with Logitech (like you, I've never cared for Apple's pointing devices).
There's a cheap workaround for the unifying receiver issue.

Get one of these:

Just plug the unifying receiver into it, and plug the USBc end into an available USBc port.
Let the end of the adapter just "hang free".

Now the unifying receiver is "far enough" from the USB ports so that it avoids RF interference from other cables. And it doesn't block other USBc ports (some adapters do).

Hi Fishrrman, that is why I come to this forum. Excellent solution I should have thought of. Ordered, thanks, Philly

I’ve been an M705 user for years. When I recently had to buy a new M705, I noticed to my horror they’ve removed the ’hidden’ thumb button, thus making the mouse useless to me.

Bought an M720 and it’s almost excactly like the good old M705, except it works with BOTH the unifying receiver AND Bluetooth.
Plus, it works with my iPad Pro as well. I can change devices quickly with a button on the mouse.

So the M720 might be a match for you too.

PS: I’m completely with you in that Apple’s mice are utter crap.

hi Don, thanks for replying. Yes, the M720 was what I went with. It is very close and I like that it has both bluetooth and the receiver. Yes, it does work well with my iPad as well. I just saw a woman in a store struggle with an Apple mouse and shuddered….
