My hd in my iMac Rev a aluminum went out, and I have AppleCare, so they could replace it for free, but I need more storage, like 250GB to 1TB. If I did it myself would that void the warranty? I can do it, and pretty clean, but do they have a way of telling? Thanks

Unless Apple will charge you a ridiculous price I'd have them add it for the price difference.

If they do want a ridiculous price for it, have Apple replace it with a new one for free before you add the 1TB one. That is why you bought Applecare.

HDs are user replaceable, the remaining Applecare warranty will cover everything else other than the new HD if you put it in.
