Replacing Icons on Computer?

if i have downloaded a new set of icons i want to use on my computer instead of the default ones, how do i set them? and if i want to can i go back to the default icons?

I don't use it myself but everyone seems to recommend Candy Bar.

Yea use candybar, and yes you can reset the defaults.

you can also click "get info" and sometimes copy and paste logos in there... but for what you are tryiing to do candy bar is probably your best bet.
