My screen assembly on my Macbook Pro 15" Late 2013 needs to be replaced. Apple store quoted me ~$600. Is there an alternative and more affordable route?

Thanks guys for the info! My laptop screen has a hairline fracture and it's causing the colors to bleed :(

Ohh. I was asking, because if it were a defect, you probably could've argued your way with a "genius" and gotten a replacement screen. I'm sorry to hear about your screen though, and good luck!
