Replacing Macbook Pro 15" Late 2013 Screen Assembly

My screen assembly on my Macbook Pro 15" Late 2013 needs to be replaced. Apple store quoted me ~$600. Is there an alternative and more affordable route?

How come you needed your screen replaced in the first place?

You can buy it and install it yourself for around $400. If you feel up to the task.

It's a pretty easy repair. Can be done in 5-10 mins.

Thanks guys for the info! My laptop screen has a hairline fracture and it's causing the colors to bleed 🙁

Ohh. I was asking, because if it were a defect, you probably could've argued your way with a "genius" and gotten a replacement screen. I'm sorry to hear about your screen though, and good luck!
