I saw a few weeks ago on here that there is a company that can replace a MBP optical drive bay with a specially made hardrive. I have looked through the forums and have not been able to find the article, but along with the name of the company, I also have another question.

Would it be possible to purchase a 32 gig SSD (or hopefully 64gig by the end of the year) and then put it in a raid with the drive in the optical bay?

Thanks

It should be doable. Those flash drives even come in 1.8" configurations, there is plenty of room to fit those in a MBP.

Do you really need that? Those drives do not come cheap at all.

Could probably hook the drive up, but I don't think there is a RAID controller in the MBP, which means no RAID drive setup....<edit> hardware wise, just found Disk Utility can setup RAID, though I'm not sure on the performance you'll get out of it </edit>
