This might seem like a stupid question to all you computer geniuses, but if i was to replace my 2x1 GB RAM with a 2x2 GB, would somethings get erased from my system that were stored on the old card? Do you just take out the ram and put the other one in, and the computer will start working faster? I just need a good explanation of everything i need to do when replacing the RAM.

RAM provides storage space for applications to access quickly, but everything is stored "permanently" on the hard drive. Changing RAM will not cause you to lose anything.

honestly, don't over think this as it's very simple..

the two posts above have mentioned everything that you need to know, haha.
