Also good sense to yank the stock drive outta there as soon as possible. The stock 320's are slow and only have an 8 meg cache. Apple's way of cutting corners to make margin.

Are the larger BTO drives that Apple sells any better?

I ordered mine with the following:

Barracuda 7200.10 SATA 3.0Gb/s 750-GB Hard Drive

It comes with a 16MB cache and good specs. It would appear to be a better drive over the stock one if you need it. I will for loading large size applications on my machine. For now, I have Filemaker and Final Cut Studio loaded which is why I needed the larger drive.

For my data, I installed three Samsung F1 750GB drives. They are in a hardware RAID 5 with the MAC RAID Card. I could have installed all with the same drives, but I decided to go with a larger (same size) BTO option vs. ordering the stock drive and yanking it for maybe a external drive.

I use the Seagate for the OS and the RAID 5 for my data. The motherboard allows for two additional internal drives if you get creative with standard brackets and mount them where the superdrives would go if you really need the additional storage options.

For me, what I have it will work fine for my needs.
