iPod replacing the battery myself?

argh... don't get too pissed, but for the life of me i can't find that website/thread that explains in detail how to change the battery in a 3rd gen (buttons above the wheel) iPod...

i've finally had it with my 1hour battery life (no exageration) and am ready to do a little iPod surgery this weekend...

they also come with the correct tool and instructions.

try and use a wooden tool so as not to scratch up your ipod, also remember the bend the metal case it so it dose not stick out when you put it back together.

I replaced the battery in my 3rd generation and i can't imagine heart surgery being any harder. The tools that came with were useless and became dull before i even got my ipod open. A pocket knife worked well and the battery was great till my iPod got stolen. Good luck!

The following site has battery replacement instructions for most models in pdf format and some quicktime movies too. I haven't tried to do this yet, so I have no idea how good they are.
