reply to msg in locked screen

Is there a way to reply to a msg without unlocking the phone in IOS 10? When I press or 3d press a msg in the lock screen, it asks me to unlock the phone. I have "reply with message" on under settings.

I had the same issue. 'C DM' has the fix. If you have 'Show Previews' selected in Notifications-->Messages, then you can reply from the lock screen without unlocking.

No it's off, do you need to have it on to be able to reply? I'll try.
