I hear Rush Limbaugh said that someday Apple device users will stop using Google and refer to apps that have the information they are looking for. I'll find a transcript of the episode where he said that.
You may not, but rest assured that's been Apples goal from day one. It's the very basis of the "App Model" created and propagated very aggressively by Apple via iTunes.
It's a model I find nearly useless when one has a good, spacious display like the displays on my HTC One X, and upcoming Samsung Galaxy SIII.
In fact avoiding Apps is one of the reasons I am delighted to continue to run 10.6.9 on my Macs.
I respect others opinions, and those who like Apps, but they just slow my workflow & offer no specific value. My iPhone 4S has a bare minimum number of Apps. If it had a modern full size display I could do with less.
Some apps I can understand like those who play games, but news apps & others are very annoying & of no interest to me.
