Report: Apple Podcasts Favors Shows With Subscriptions

Incoming paid Podcasts+ subcriptions..

I wouldn't be surprised if they work into the whole Apple One thing.

They already have a decently sized selection of podcasts exclusive to Apple Music subscribers.

All of them terrible and so obviously manufactured with the sole purpose of making pick Apple Music over Spotify. But still exclusive, I guess.

For me, any one of these efforts by Apple to make a buck doesn’t bother me. The concern I have is the cumulative effect where their apps look more and more like commercials.

I used to think Apple featured shows, apps or podcasts because they were new, good or popular.
It’s obvious now that Featured means Profitable.

At this point I already avoid the TV app by having disconnected streaming services from it. I no longer browse the App Store just to see what’s new.

When you shove something in someone’s face the natural reaction is to pull back.

1Password, Instagram and Clash of Clans? Seriously? They’re not bad apps (well except CoC of course) but who doesn’t know them by now??
