Do not hold your breath, another maybe, sometime, soon, might etc announcement that turns into another Apple dead end street.

Remember an old saying "lower your expectations to zero and you are never disappointed" applies sadly to most Apple non-hardware announcements recently.

Occasionally get mad again over the lies last year at iPhone 16 introduction as the year is nearly past for any of the claims to be justified. I guess we who made that iPhone 16 purchase should be grateful if it actually makes and completes calls and the camera functions in a very basic manner.

Tell me again how that differs from the. basic functionality of the iPhone 4!

I wonder what happened within Apple after Siri debuted. At the time, it was one of the first fairly useful (if limited) personal assistants. I suspect when Jobs said he had "cracked" the AppleTV interface, he was talking about Siri. But things somehow got derailed and Siri never lived up to its promise. Now it's so far behind the curve, I'm not sure how they'll catch up. But I'm willing to be surprised.

The issue is that pretty much from the get-go, literally from day one, Siri began being passed around apple, like an unwanted hot potato.
And before the Forstall fanboys start… he was literally the guy that started the cycle.
After Steve passed, Scott passed off Siri to one of his employees named Richard Williamson, because he didn’t see it as a big enough part of iOS just yet.
Scott and Richard were let go in 2013, and then it just began being moved from team to team to team to team.
Snazzy labs did an excellent video on this earlier this year…
Basically it comes down to absolutely no one, not Scott Forstall, Eddie or Craig knew how much of a priority to make Siri, and eventually just being allowed to slip through the cracks.

I just want a device where it's just a stick you can talk to and it does stuff for you. Sorta like the emanator in Bladerunner 2049 without the holographic visual. Just the audio.

And try to use an LLM model that can correctly count the number of r's in blueberry.

Keep testing, it’s good...
When I hear about anything ’Siri’ the jokes keeps coming.
To me, she died long time ago - RIP.
I pass Grok and that guy too for now as well.

Otherwise I’m looking forward to the evolvement of AI.
I like OpenAI and ChatGPT.

This seems like it's going to drastically increase the power of the Shortcuts app. Fantastic.

Psssh, the iPhone 16 is the BEST, MOST POWERFUL iPhone ever released! It is over 200 times faster than the A4. And Apple didn't stop there! The iPhone 16 Pro series features the FASTEST A-series chip ever released, the A18 Pro, with over 300% performance improvement over the A4. The iPhone 16 Pro is truly the iPhone for ultra pros!

I will neither upgrade nor update my iPhone 14 Pro Max and Apple ecosystem until “Apple Intelligence” is fully released and liquid glass looks more legible.

I think for the most part, Apple has been slow and careful about implementing this, but loud with announcements unfortunately. I'm in the "Pro-AI" camp but I would not upgrade from a 14 Pro Max for it either.

Old Siri:

Hey Siri, call me an Uber

Siri: I know your name is John, but I'll call you a goober if you want.
--------------------------------

Revamped Siri:

Siri: Here's What I found on the web: to call Uber you should dial 1-833-USE-UBER in the phone app.

Make sure all of the c suite gets a raise. They look like a bunch of wankers.

Imagine any laymen or professional being over a year late on a commitment.

I have been very critical of Apple and the horrible state of Siri. That said, I want them to be successful and get it right and at least pull even with Android.
They are ten years behind Google on that. Only way is if AAPL acquires Anthropic and maybe Perplexity to get all of the expertise needed.

By the time it's done they'll realize it needs way more memory than the meagre 8 GB they put in their "made for Apple Intelligence" iPhone 16 series.

“Good progress” 🤡 LOL

It won’t launch before the iPhone 18, which will likely underperform. OpenAI’s ‘Agent’ had poor performance at launch and continues to struggle. And since apple is significantly behind its competitors, it will bomb.

Apple better nail the revamped Siri, because if they don’t, it’s game over for them.

If news was that Apple was delaying this feature, there would be 20 comments but because it’s in testing phase the trolls have no content
"Testing phase" means nothing. They've been "testing" long before AppleI was announced. This looks like a rather lame attempt on building hype for non-existant product.

Still the feature is delayed, at this point it is delayed by years.

15 years waiting for Siri in my native language only to find out that the new generation voice assistant will be rolling out gradually and will not be available here and in many other regions. 🫠
