Why does the AirTag in the x-Ray look like it’s outside the rib cage?

It looks more like it’s on top of the dog.

Didn’t we just have an article a few weeks ago where an airtag saved a dogs life????

Wonder how many things dogs (and other pets) eat that aren’t meant to be eaten, but of course that list won’t make it into the press…

This is probably one of the dumbest stories I've ever read. Do you think dogs are swallowing AirTags just because they're AirTags? Dogs unfortunately, eat all kinds of small things, and that includes things in your yard, rocks, trash, other dog feces, and anything else that they can get their mouth around. It's not a problem with an AirTag per se, it's more of a problem with dogs eating random items. Your story seems to implicate AirTags as if, they add some type of bacon flavor to the case housing the air tag and it is attracting the dog.

As a Labrador owner myself, I learnt a long time ago that if it's even remotely possible for Ollie to eat it he will.

I want to track a 🦈 Shark or 🐬 Dolphins in the Pacific Ocean (Follow the marine life journey). Would that be possible???
There are a bunch of Sharks that are tagged you can follow. (Not with air tags)

I stopped looking at the tracking when I saw how close they came to a few of my surf spots.

I'd just rather not know. 😳

I will add, this seems like a niche issue. If you got a good AirTag collar..how would a dog eat it? I know some dogs are..interesting in they eat everything you'd think a dog wouldn't but if they can't get at it..how?
In the article, it was the other dog who got at it.

If you look closely, the bones are quite transparent to the X-rays. The AirTag reflects so much more that it shines through the bones, outshining them.

By the way, humans swallow AirTags as well:

HEADLINES: Any object that is approx 1.26 inches in diameter can be swallowed by your pet...

In other news... water you put into your pet bowl is wet.

Dogs can eat anything lying around the house, whether or not they're used on the dogs themselves. This is just a clickbait story because anything with "Apple" attached gets hits.

Sure, it's not the best real time tracker but if you live in a city with lots of iPhones, the Find My network is accurate enough that if you lose your dog, you'll have a general idea of where they went off to.

I used it as peace of mind when I travelled, knowing that my dog was still at my friend's house instead of trying to escape and find her home. Best $29 I've ever spent on my dog.
Slow Apple news day. Writer had a quota that day so they need to show the dark side of using AirTags on your pets.

My dog would never swallow something that doesn't smell good... Also why are dogs even swallowing them what are the owners doing?

Dogs will do dog things.

Some dogs are smarter than others.

In the same as some dog owners are more considerate than others.

This is speaking from in-person experience and observations on social media.

Lets be honest here... many pet owners do so because they saw it on a screen hence certain breeds being so popular during certain years because they saw it on Game of Thrones.

AirTags also give off high amounts of EMF (you can get an EMF reader to confirm for yourself) which I believe is also why they say not to attach them to "living things" (dogs, kids, etc.)
