I am not sure that OLED "offers many more disadvantages" as you indicate unless you are someone who is bothered by PWM flicker. Most of the other issues conventionally associated with OLED panels are either overblown imo or have been mostly resolved over time by manufacturers. Most longevity tests I have seen actually have OLED panels earning significantly higher reliability ratings than LCDs, on average. I've owned many OLED devices including phones, tablets, monitors, and TVs over the last 10-12 years and never had any of the issues you are describing, even after long term use. Granted I am also not someone who is bothered by PWM flicker and don't watch static content for extended periods of time on any of my devices.

I for one am VERY excited for a 120hz OLED iPad mini. My current mini is the only screen I use regularly that isn't an OLED 😂
Display quality is hit or miss sometimes, some OLED displays may develop pink or green lines out of nowhere (but usually from drops).

PWM switch in recent iPhones is a life savior for me personally. However I learned later that it is not PWM that bothers me but IR sensors in Face ID, and after disabling it completely I realized I do not feel any difference between OLED vs LCD

This is very interesting. I’ve never heard of anyone being bothered by the Face ID IR blaster.

There is zero chance Apple will release an OLED iPad Mini when they are about to launch the folding iPhone.
totally different products, even with the price hikes the ipad mini a lot cheaper product and for different purposes, I won't even thinking of the fold and who wants a foldable phone won't buy an ipad instead of that

This thing is gonna be $799. That's too bad because I kinda want one. I loved my iPad mini 2. I'm due to upgrade my iPad Pro 12.9" M1 in the next upgrade cycle. I think what I really need is to just move down to the 11" size, as I'm tired of this big clunky thing, and don't use it as much as I thought as a lightweight Mac replacement when traveling, and have since sized down to a 14" MBP from a 16" MBP after purchasing it, which is more portable. But I'll need to wait for it to go on sale or refurb because these prices are out of control!

Part of me wants to just get the iPhone Ultra, since it should combine the iPhone with the iPad mini, but post-price increases there's no way this thing comes in less than $2499. I just can't justify that now, especially for a first gen product. You know the first gen products always have something going on with them, or don't last as long, and this is a radical change for Apple.
