Working without restore in Sri Lanka

From Sri Lanka here! My iRadio started working for me randomly around 2 days back, without a restore or anything. It still does work, it's quite strange. I have a Sri Lankan iTunes account with a credit card on file.

I live in Colombia. Everest since the service was released, I've been able to use IRadio. I thought it was available worldwide.

US dollar accounts worldwide it seems

I live in Colombia. Everest since the service was released, I've been able to use IRadio. I thought it was available worldwide.

Those countries who get billed/priced in US dollars seem to have access to iTunes Radio.

Happened to me 5 weeks ago (in Sweden)

5 weeks ago I got iTunes Radio after a restore of my iPhone 5.
The service didn't work though and it disappeared after about a day.

Nothing with my UK itunes account, changed to my US account and there it was. Used it for a bit and went back to the UK account and it was gone. Who ever said it was linked to US$ Accounts I think was right.

Not sure it'll change my life either way, but nice to have the option.

Got a new iPhone 5s, restored it from an iCloud backup and got the iTunes Radio afterwards, however it told me that the service is currently experiencing problems and therefore is not available. All that on a German account and of course in perfect German.

Sadly the button was gone after the next restart.

nada in Germany either. but im not surprised with our lovely GEMA. oh well back to my US Account.

Like iTunes movies in the cloud, TV shows in the cloud, two step verification, a lot of Apple TV content and so on...either we get it late like iTunes Match or never :D

It's working in Japan on my riPad mini.

Does the version of iTunes Radio you're using in Japan frequently play Japanese artists or does it mainly only have American music? Ever since I returned home to the States, I do miss being able to listen to Japanese pop music.

It always worked for me in Australia with my US Apple ID...since the GM release of IOS7.

I restored my phone a few days ago due to the 'other' file reaching around 2GB (I really want a solution to that - I don't have loads of text attachments, etc). In any case, I noticed the radio option in 'Music' afterward and it's still there. Strange way of releasing a feature, Apple! =)

I restarted my iPhone and saw nothing. I re-activated iTunes Match, restarted and it iTunes Radio came on. Looks like they're set for a worldwide launch any day now.
I agree. Almost two weeks ago I suddenly had it running here in Germany on my iMac. Was able to put together some mixes as well as play them. That was shortly after I bought a season pass for Sherlock on iTunes. Suddenly it also appeared on my iPhone but whenever I wanted to play music from the phone an error message appeared. All in German btw (so much for everyone blaming GEMA - it seems as if Apple is quite confident to be able to launch the service here soon as well; all seems to be prepared at least).
After a while I noticed that my iTunes store was somehow set to the US one on my iMac (although I was logged in with my ID that is only valid on the German one). After I tried buying a movie iTunes suddenly realised my ID is only valid in Germany and send me back to the German store. iTunes Radio disappeared in that second and the music stopped. Strange but interesting bug. I was glad to be able to test it out for a couple of minutes at least. :)

It kinda works

Hi,

I decided to restore my iPad and try it out. After restoring from my iCloud backup I opened the music app and nothing new was on the bottom row initially but after a few seconds the iTunes Radio button appeared. On this it has start listening. Once tapping that it advises that iTunes radio is unavailable temporally and to try again later.

So restoring will work in the UK on a UK apple id but the service will not work yet.

I don't know anyone that has even heard of iTunes radio here in the UK let alone iTunes match.

Apple really are behind in streaming.

Especially since Spotify on Mobile in now free (shuffled playlists not on-demand) so that effectively replicates iTunes Radio.

Aside from the iTunes vouchers i get for christmas presents i can't remember the last time i spent money on the iTunes store.
The music on iTunes Radio is higher quality (encoded at a higher bitrate) than the music on Spotify Free. So I personally prefer iTunes radio on my mobile as I can tell the difference.

I noticed this the other day when I restored my iPhone.

Nothing would play though and it kept saying I needed to sign in to a US account.

Next day I checked the music app and it had vanished again.

Odd - sure do hope it comes soon though. Already got iTunes match so this will be a great (ad free) way to stream more music.

There but not working in Oz

I had to restore today in Australia and it's there, however each time I press the "start listening" button it goes to a screen saying it is not available yet.

Works in UK with US account.

Tested this, it works in UK when logged into a US iTunes account; restart phone and its there in Music, and is working playing music. No need for a proxy or anything, just a US iTunes account. However, when I change back to the UK account, it is still there but won't play music. After a restart, its gone from the menu. I'm going to stay in the US account until launch as I like iTunes radio, its pretty good.

------

Edit:
Just tested on iPad (iOS 7.0.4) and also works in UK after reboot while logged into US account.
Also, checked on Apple TV, and that didn't need a reboot, just logged into US account and the radio icon popped up, and works fine too. Probably old news.

How? No trickery with using a US account then switching to UK or proxy or anything? If so, you must be the only person! How did you do it? As I want to try it.

No trickery at all it just appeared one day! Sadly I lost it when I had to do a restore a few weeks ago
