Hi,

recently I installed the Crystal HD card into my 1st generation Apple TV. Now I have an unused Wi-Fi card which got me thinking. My MacPro (early 2009, 2,66 Ghz Quard-Core Xeon) does not have an Airport Card built-in and I was wondering if I could use the old card and install it instead? This is more of a hobby project since the Mac Pro is currently on a wired connection, but it might come in handy should I decide to move it to another location.

Anyone has any ideas about this? Google came up with nothing...

Thanks in advance for any help!

It can be used in your Mac Pro without a problem. Just stick it in and connect the antennas. That's it.

Thanks, that was quick! Is it exactly the same card that Apple would built in or do I need special drivers/tools?

Exactly the same. The Apple TV 1 runs Mac OS X, so all the drivers are already in the actual Mac OS X. The card is a standard run of the mill Apple Airport Extreme N card.
