I have a first generation (I think) full size iPad circa 2012-2013. I would like to re-purpose it into something more like a reading table.

What's the best way to do that? I would essentially like to erase all APPs and all data from the machine, just clean it completely, and then reinstall the few basic reading APPs that I would use.

Am grateful for any suggestions!

thanks!

well that certainly sounds simple enough! thanks very much!

(and then I also have to make sure that the next time I connect the iPad to iTunes, that iTunes does NOT do some kind of a restore from a backup and put all that backed up info!)

I’ve done this to a few older ipads, while I find the weight a bit of a nuisance after a while it is great to have almost my entire library on one device.
I keep my old ipad3 in the kitchen with my cookbook collection on it just for that.

Im planning on creating a Picture frame case/holder for it to where I can mount it to the wall and use it as a virtual picture frame or weather/clock display. Im trying to figure out how to do it without having that unsightly cable being seen. My plan is to maybe run an outlet higher on the wall, and just encompass the whole charging cable & block inside the frame and mount it over the outlet.

Of course this has been a back burner project for months now, hopefully I will start it sometime in the new year...

Simply set it up as a new device. Hope it helps
