I got a request for help from a friend who has been using his workplace email on his iPhone. He was concerned that some of his personal contacts could be seen in his workplace emails. Therefore for privacy he deleted about 100 contacts from a total of 750 contacts. Now he is finding that those 100 contacts have also been deleted from his iPhone. He is desperate to recover them. Kindly let us know of any method by which he can recover those contacts.

If the contacts were in the address book associated with the work email then they are gone.

If he had a backup on a computer he can sync and choose to have the computer override the sync and replace the contacts on the phone with what's on the computer.

Figure out how the contacts were removed from the other device. If it was because eg they're all synced via an iCloud account, there is a very good chance that Apple can restore the contacts by rolling back to one of the backups they automatically make.

Alternatively, if the contacts exist on an Apple computer (but were also removed from that by the sync), then restoring a Time Machine backup while the system is disconnected from the internet should make them available to export.

There are quite a few options, but they all depend on exactly where the contacts were available, and how they were removed.
