i just filled mine out too and it says they have to validate it then email :( how long will that take lol I'm in the same boat as you
 
i got mine within 10 minutes. but the problem was when i tried to redeem the code, the app store told me it was already used. contacted support already about this.
 
OMG!! Like one must wait a couple of like minutes instead of instant gratification? This is just further proof, like, that Apple is, like, going down.

You live in the digital age of instant gratification and you have issues with that? I ask a question that has relevance and it's to probe a curiosity. **and btw I still haven't received mind, so your few mins though process is down the drain.

the system is probably broken. like i said, i received mine pretty quickly but the code didnt even work. i'm sure they've stopped sending them out until it gets fixed.

Well it didn't happen in, "like minutes". I submitted mine over an hour ago, so I too am wondering how long people are normally waiting for a response...minutes, hours, or might it be days?

I'm glad to hear someone got their code in a few minutes, but disappointed to hear the code didn't work.

Anyone else gotten a response for their ML download?

mine said my code was already used :eek:

I just purchase and Ill deal with them later.. no time for their silly games.

I originally had written "a couple of hours", but then changed it to minutes after some of the responses here. Regardless of whether it's hours or minutes, I don't understand the need to be an unpaid beta tester and suffer through the congested servers and these kind of issues. It's not some kind of race to see who can install ML first.

It's actually quite a prudent and good idea to wait a couple of days and see if there are any major problems, especially if you use your computer for critical and important tasks, such as making money, studying or watching porn. I just don't understand the "can't wait, won't wait" attitude.

As others have said, the codes that were issued previously don't work.

I'm guessing that something in their system is broken, and whilst they're still accepting applications - they're not sending codes out until they're working.


Seriously, if it bothered you that much, you'd have already downloaded the GM build. A few extras hours won't hurt, and there might be less load on the download servers then too.
 
Defaults to address in United States

I filled in mine, and noticed that it added to my address details that i live in the US, where as i live in the UK. There is no way round that. Just been on the phone to apple here in the UK and they have confirmed that the forced erroneous address should not cause a problem.

They also said to expect to wait 24-72 hours for a redeem code!!

They are doing it off a hardware serial number and email address that is already logged with apple, why this can't be automated and instant is anyone's guess.
 
It seems that all codes are not working, regardless of when they were issued. This is a fiasco and a fail. Perhaps Apple should invest less in suing other companies and more in beta testing?
 
Well that sucks...

Submitted a request at 0800 CST. Received code at 0841. Code error (previously used) at 0843. Lovely. :mad:

Like a previous post, will most likely pay the $20 and donate my code to a starving college student.

The code process has known issues.. Just buy it .. File a complaint and get refunded in a few days. My refund has already been approved.
 
It took about two hours for me to receive my code, fortunately it worked. I'm just creating a USB install key now, finished downloading in about two hours.
 
you positive the "refund" will work? I got my macbook literally 2 days ago and i wanna try out mountain lion. Don't wanna buy it now and have a free copy later. Don't want to wait either. Haha :eek:
