Not many people share game performance on the m1, so I'd love to see some footage for WoW, Civ6, CoD, etc.

From what I’m seeing; any game that does not suport Metal will just not function at all on M1. This would unfortunately rule out the vast majority of games. Also support for iOS apps seems to be extremely limited because developers could “opt out”, and most games seem to have done so.

Am I mistaken? I‘ll do some testing when my Air 16/512 arrives.

EDIT: Yes, I am mistaken! Lots of games seem to be working quite well. I've played the Tomb Raider reboot on high settings 1080p over 60fps on my M1 Air. Nice! I thought OpenGL was deprecated, but I guess not.

Games that do run Metal seem to be performing at extremely high frame rates, but some have significant crashing. Example would be Fortnight:

start at 2:30 wow on this is running on rosetta but blizzard has since released a native client. I haven't seen any info on wow performance with the new client.

Maybe it doesn't help that it was developer video but until know I haven't seen anyone try or play Baldur's Gate 3 on a M1. As far as I know it's/should be the benchmark game to where the M1 can go when optimized for it.

There is a guy saying he has ran Cities Skylines and I do not think that runs using metal.

Rocket League in exhibition match with 5 bots plus myself ran 60 fps+ at native 1440x900

Nope, ...any game that until now supported already Metal...it will run already native
Any other intel mac game will run under rosetta2 but it seems a lot of updates...WOW already native since today, Baldurus Gate 3, hearthstone, Starcraft 2...and updating...so very very quickly even game dev wants to jump on this from the first gen chip because of the promise of "tomorrow"

That fortnight has some issues because both controllers were paired at the same time and some glitches happened

I don't have any video at the moment, but Dolphin works for GameCube emulation via Rosetta. Full 1440p upscaling was almost full speed, but I was also installing Xcode in the background.

So kinda surprising to me but it appears that Aspyr ports are not compatible with the M1 currently. None of my Aspyr games (bioshock, COD, etc...) will allow me to download them.

This is through the Mac App Store BTW and not steam. Have yet to attempt steam.

Try other paradox games if you own them like Stellaris and Europa Universalis 4 at highest speed. Thank You

Ok so false alarm on this....

Apparently all of my games are just old and are 32 bit only from Aspyr. I am downloading COD MW2 right now (hardly current but even Intels latest iGPU couldn't run it well).
