Hello everyone
I'm new to the forum and to the Mac OS overall.
My 11 year old son was gifted a Mac Book Air recently. I believe its a 2012 model , A1465.
Specs are I7, 8 GB Ram and 256 SSD.
It is currently running OS X 10.7.5. All my attempts to upgrade the OS to El Capitan have failed since in the App Store after the download a remark says "An Error Has Occured"
When I try to upgrade using the installer for OS X 10.8.5, after a few minutes it says "An error has occured during the preparation of your upgrade please try again"
If someone would be kind enough to put down a short guide in a few steps I would really be grateful
