Requirements for Auto Unlock?

Have the requirements for Auto Unlock been shared?

I have an Apple Watch with an early 2011 MBP that I hacked by upgrading the BT module to 4.0. I'm now able to run continuum. Is the unlock done using BT or another process?

I am wondering this, because I have have a Late 2012 MacBook Pro 15 Inch, and it doesn't do it with my Apple Watch and I can't find a setting for it.

Im using a MacBook Pro 2015 and its not working either. May come in a later beta I'm guessing.

Edit: just tried after closing the lid and it auto unlocked but when it locks while lid is open it doesn't seem to work.
