I'm considering (not entirely sure yet) of selling my Mid-2011 iMac 27" towards the purchase of a 15.4" retina Macbook Pro. The specs are:

27" iMac (Mid-2011)
2.7 GHz Intel Core i5
16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
1 TB HDD
AMD Radeon HD 6770M 512 MB

How much should I expect to get for this setup? Also, I've read elsewhere that it's a good idea to remove aftermarket upgrades (in my case, the 16 GB of ram was upgraded from 4 GB) to get more from resale. Is that true?

Prices are entirely dependent on the market, check Ebay and your local Craig's Listings to see what they are selling for.
