Is apple doing the daily reservation system like they did for the 5 where you pick up in store?
 
I believe that if you go online and order and schedule for pick up at your local apple store, then yes it is similar to the 5 launch. That is if you are lucky enough to have a store near that gets a steady supply of shipments. This is how i got my iphone 5. I checked every night and ended up getting lucky and my local apple store got a few in.
