Reserve and Pickup only for residents?!

    This is one part of the sourcecode, which can be found on the german and uk apple watch ireserve site.
    Apparently you need to provide a valid ID Nr (govt.id). The question is, if they also will accept foreign ID's.
    I've never heard of this before. Maybe this is a new measure to prevent reselling. However this is just a test site yet, and they could change their minds about this.

    I'm thinking you're reading into this too much, but using a government ID to prevent people from buying multiple Apple Watches when there is a limit set forth by Apple, will help reduce scalping.

    Unless it's referring to a passport number which seems ridiculous, If I have a government ID, I certainly don't know about it.

    Yes, you need either an official ID Card or Passport to pick the watch up in the store.

    I think everyone is just getting too anxious too quickly. We shall see. Maybe a driving license or passport will be required.
