I have Tmobile but would like the verizon phone. can i use my friend's phone number, billing zip code, and last 4 social and jsut pick it up and use on tmobile? or would it be locked to verizon?

thanks

Why not just go to an Apple store and buy the Verizon phone yourself? You aren't forced to open a verizon account if you do it that way. Doing what you want would open another line on your friend's account.

bc it sells out quickly and i have work. can't just camp out before the store opens at 9am or leave in the middle of the day

Why do you want the Verizon phone? Just buy the SIM free one and you can use it on any carrier?

there is no sim free iphone x. and verizon one works with all carriers (easier to resell next year) and has qualcomm chip (better performance)

There is, Apple just isn't making it easy to get.

Xfinity sent me the sim-free version.

how is it fraud when he gave me his info

Call verizon and tell them you are using your friend's info to purchase a phone. You will find out quickly.

Secondly, if you use your friend's info and impersonate him to try and buy a phone, whether with or without his permission, it's also fraud.

I have the same problem as you, OP. I was hoping to get some answers, but unfortunately this thread is full of unhelpful, theoretical workarounds from armchair detectives.

So you want to lie to Verizon and act like you are someone else. Talk about stupid.

Elaborate on why it’s stupid. Hard mode: Use facts and not your feelings. And stay on topic, the question is which you think it’s stupid.

Maybe read TOS on Verizon contracts. Only that person or persons listed on that contract have the authority to use that account for purchases, upgrades etc. YOU are not listed on that account, and YOU can not impersonate that person to make those purchases. If YOU want that phone then have your friend do it for you, and then YOU reimburse that person. Allowing others access to your account can void the contract.

NYC stores have e a buttload as of right now for reserve. The problem is we can’t reserve them without that Verizon account. By morning, I’m sure they’ll all be gone.

I was able to get the Verizon phone the same way. My friend gave me his info, I reserved online and paid full oeice. I got to the store and ask them not activate the phone at all through the account it was reserved under. They had me cancel my reservation, redfuend then resold the phone. However I did get a manager that told me it’s not possible to sell the phone without activation. Your mileage will vary store to store, manager to manager. I got lucky and the one I had talked to earlier had no problem selling me the phone.
