Reset auto-brightness to factory default?

Is it possible to reset auto-brightness to factory default after manually adjusting the brightness settings?

After changing the brightness manually once, it looks like the display brightness auto adjustment isn't as accurate as it was before.

Try resetting the NVRAM and if necessary, also the SMC.

I doubt it would make a difference. The auto-adjust is based on sensors in the edge of the screen...so changing the setting won't change the function. The only things that should limit that are being at the extreme ends of bright/dark. I've always found it a bit irritating and too sensitive, so I turn it off and simply change brightness with F keys.

It's so damn weird that it breaks the behaviour the moment you accidentally touch it.
