I did a direct transfer from my iPhone 12 to my iPhone 14 Pro. After the esim was activated on the 14 Pro, the 12 showed SOS.

After I erased/reset the 12, the 12 is showing cell signal bars and 5G.

Is this normal? I would have assumed that the 12 would still show SOS after erasing.

Is the 12 still linked to my phone number?

Thanks.

Does your new phone work?

If so, you don’t have anything to worry about. Only one SIM can be active; that’s my understanding, anyway.

If it's the physical sim in the 12 then you can just remove it and throw it away.

I have boxes for the XR, 2020 SE, 12 and 14 Pro, and none of them have a SIM card removal tool. Any thoughts on where I could get one?

If your new phone works, you should just remove the old sim with a paperclip if you don't have a sim eject tool. That old sim is worthless now and won't work. Likely if you stuck that sim back in the phone after it was removed you'd likely see no signal indicators after that.

I have a paper clip, but it seems too thick. Guess I should go to Walmart and get a thinner paper clip.

Do you have something like a sewing needle? That should work too. Really don't want to see you have to go to Walmart and spend money on a whole pack of paperclips.
