It depends on what’s causing the issue, but it’s certainly possible that it will help. I have seen cases where battery drain has been excessive after restoring from backup and this was resolved by wiping the device and setting it up as a new device.

When I get a new phone, I always start from scratch since I have messages and photos on iCloud, so I just sign in, and let it download it all back into my phone but I avoid doing iCloud restores, I feel that brings over bugs and stuff, especially since I was on the iOS 18 betas since beta 3. lotta junk there.

I always start fresh and set up as a new phone. PITA to reinstall all the apps with all the logins.
