So, I had a malfunctioning power/lock screen button. I took it to the Apple Store and got it replaced. My last iCloud backup was last night, so in the heat of the moment, I thought I was good and reset my old phone before handing it over.

When I got home, that's when I remembered my pictures that I didn't store anywhere (except a handful that I uploaded to Facebook). A#$%$LSDKJFHASD  After researching, I know there is no point in contacting the store to see if there is something they could do.

Somehow, with my iCloud backup, photos prior to 2013 were still on the phone. My last iTunes backup file was February, so I got January and half of February covered.

If I've never used Photo Stream, and didn't have any computer backups prior to February, how did photos prior to 2012 still show up on my phone? Were those stored on the SIM card or something?

I reset my phone and had it restore itself again from last night's iCloud backup instead of February's iTunes backup (the last one I had).

Here's why I had some pictures. THE PHONE WAS DOWNLOADING THEM FROM ICLOUD. On the photo app home screen, it says that it is downloading 65 of 646 pictures. Oh my gosh! I thought you had to use Photo Stream to back up photos. But after looking up iCloud backup info on Apple's website, it backs up Camera Roll items too.

I just need to let this phone sit idle and do it's thing over my WiFi.

I'm gonna be a very happy man if this works out!!!!!:):):):)
