Resetting Safari?

Can resetting Safari make that big a difference? I haven't done this in probably 3 -4 months and decided to, because my computer had slowed down. WOW it's running so much better/faster.

One of the things resetting Safari does is cleans out its icon cache. For some weird reason, clearing this speeds up Safari quite a bit.
