Plays well on my 12.9" M1 iPad Pro. I adjusted a bit more for performance because too much resolution and quality causes some stutter. I really hope more AAA games come to iOS/iPad. The iPad is almost the perfect mobile gaming machine.

I understand putting it on iOS/iPadOS making developers put touch controls but if only they could make it controller required for some games so that more developers can port them over with more ease? Hell, I would like full blown league of legends instead of Wild Rift if they required the iPad to be connected to a keyboard and mouse. The Sims 4 could run as well on iPadOS. Make those games iPadOS only and not compatible with iPhone if that is what they are concerned about. I am excited I might be able to push the M1 a bit finally...

Imho that should be forbidden to charge the same price more time for one simple app...What's this sht? Capcom shows that it also work differently. Not like Things or PDF Expert....

Brilliant game and remake and when you are finished with this (and all the extra add-on stuff) RE3 is just as good.

My recomendation for a more imersive experience is to play it on a large screen device. So play it on an iPad or Mac, and if its connected to a larger screen and you're using a gamepad, even better :)

Oh, and turn the lights down, use headphones and don't play it just before going to bed.
For more fun, use it with your Apple watch or any workout device that logs heartbeats...always fun to laugh at it afterwards "yea, that peak is from when a mutant lizard chased me down the corridor.."
You work in marketing?

I’m so getting this.

Although, I need to try
For $10 ? This is a steal ! If you haven't played this game yet, you absolutely need to do it. It's that awesome.
If you played the original, even better. It will bring you back to your childhood ;)
Even though this is a remake, I’ve really come to love these older, pre-Internet, pre-DLC era games.

They just have a different vibe.

I’ve think I’ve played through one Resident Evil game before. Although I’m maybe remembering watching someone else play through it.. 🤔

But this one is new to me and should be a blast.

Capcom's Resident Evil 2 remake has debuted on Apple devices, making it the fourth Resident Evil title to arrive on Apple's mobile platforms.

The survival horror shooter is available as a free download with a limited part of the game being playable, after which players must purchase the full game to continue. The good news is that Capcom is running a promotional discount of 75% off the usual price for a limited time.

From now until January 8, the base game can be purchased for $9.99, while all in-game rewards can be unlocked for $1.99. After that date, the game will be sold for $39.99.

Resident Evil 2 requires an iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 16 series model to run, along with iPads and Macs equipped with M1 chips or later. The game supports cross-progression across supported Apple devices, so players can continue their progress whether playing on iPhone, iPad, or Mac. It's also a universal purchase, meaning a single purchase grants access across all compatible Apple devices.

Capcom says the app is approximately 31GB in size, and that the installation process requires the target drive to have at least twice the size of the app in storage space available. An internet connection is also required to start the game. Resident Evil 2 can be downloaded from the App Store. [Direct Link]

Already able to play a 30 year old game on em… catchin up quick!

The fact that it’s a 30GB game should tell you that it’s far and away a more demanding game hardware-wise than the original…

Garbage hot takes.

I’m not a gamer per se, but I might poke around that Sim City game to see if it holds my interest. Right now I usually play like 2 rounds of call of duty and/or a round of Halo Wars to unwind at the end of the day.

It sounds like you’re describing that this is a great game to do on the Apple Vision Pro. I just don’t know how the controllers would work with a Vision Pro.

As far as immersive gameplay, certainly the Apple Vision Pro does beat everything else hands-down, if Apple could just figure out how to get game controllers that are more like traditional ones rather than blinking and pinching.

I last played this on PS2 (I think?), is this just the same game with a new lick of visual paint?
It's the same general story, but the presentation has been completely redone. It switches from that fixed camera perspective to a third person over the shoulder perspective. And it is quite gorgeous.

The original RE2 launched in 1998 on the Playstation.

This is a complete REMAKE that originally launched in 2018.

The remake also ranked 11th on IGN's 2024 Top Playstation Games of All Time.

I just downloaded the game, and I could only get it play in a small window on my MBP. The cursor was trapped in the game window so I could resize the window nor could I even quit the game without using Command Q.

The game starts in windowed mode. You have to to start the game and change to fullscreen and right resolution. From there you can quit to. Sounds like you didn't even enter the game.
