I have iMac M3 with 24gb ram...is this good enough? I don't game much, but this series I like. I've only bought one game since having the iMac M3 Death Stranding and I suck, I have a hard time figuring it out... lol

31GB is a very reasonable size for a game like RE3R. It’s apples appalling entry storage options that are the problem for those who want to play AAA games on their devices.

I played this RE3 remake a few years ago and along with RE2 and RE4 they are fantastic.

I like how Capcom is legit the only company that did not gave up on “Mac Gaming”

I am surprised any one does. Mac gaming has to be the lowest in its history and with price tag of $30 , how much did it cost to remake and port to the mac? how many units will they sell?

maybe, maybe, the popularity of ios phones will make it worth while although I doubt iOS gamers spend $30 per game and I am thinking its going to eat all the battery up in 2 hours.

Game runs rather smooth.

On my M3 Max binned 16", internal screen 2160p, all settings maxed
no MetalFX 45-60fps
MetalFX Quality 80-90fps
MetalFX Performance ~120fps

Andrew Tsai on YouTube is streaming now, he uses an M4 MBA and gets like 60-70 fps with 1080p.

what is the computer you are running on? Is it laptop? is it melting?
my previous experience with mac gaming is that even if it runs the game on lowest of settings the laptop will turn into a furnace reaching 90ºC (194F) on the CPU. I got this playing a port of Shadow Warrior (1997) on a 2015 macbook.

Let us know. I want to download it for my iMac M3.
For the first part of me walking around some room, it seems to be running smooth. I have the graphics on the first High and turned on shadows and flairs and all that. I'm stuck in the room for now but need to get back to work around the house. I'll play a little more and report back if I hit any slowdowns.

But really, I think you'll be just fine on your M3. It's free, anyway, so give it a try!

A 16" MBP with binned M3 Max, base 36GB. Both the CPU and GPU cores got to 90 degrees, but I didn't play for very long, like 45 minutes only. Fans ran up to 3400 rpm at one point, not yet jet engine level of noise (this MBP max fan speed is 5777 rpm). Battery dropped 40% during this time.

Just to add, AS might be a lot more efficient. I played Tropico 6 (I know it's a few years old but so is my 2020 M1 MBP) on the highest settings with no hiccup. It pretty much ran for about 8 hours and the fans came on slightly maybe. I didn't hear them but I'm assuming they did.

RE3 ran pretty smooth but I didn't get into any action.

90 degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit ?

I wonder if PC gaming also cooks windows laptops , or is it just a mac thing. My macbook is 2015 and when I run CIV V (2010) my MBP near melts.

I did. I totally suck at games, but geez this thing looks great on the iMac M3...I have a trackpad and have difficulty figuring out navigating. it keeps showing a mouse with right click image...I guess I have to change the trackpad to have control click on the bottom or left side. Anyway it smooth and looks great full screen.

Do you have a moue you can try it out with? I happened to find my steel series BT game pad thing earlier that day so I used that. It worked pretty good but I wasn't that good on the controls.

Oh wait I have that for my Apple TV. Steel Series Nimbus, wireless one. I'll disconnect it from my Apple TV and pair it on my iMac M3 and will use that. I'll play with it tomorrow and see how it goes.

Celcius of course.

I don't think 90F is possible while running RE3 lol, even on a M2 Ultra Mac Pro with fans at full blast.

this is not any better than Intel machines then for gaming. at 90C its literally cooking. I had higher hopes for M chips.

That's the temperature reported by the sensor on the CPU, which might be in a different position than on Intel CPU, so I wouldn't compare the numbers.

But that's just the temperature on the CPU, it doesn't say anything about the actual amount of heat generated.
