RESOLVED Can I open the camera full-screen in iMessages?

Sorry if already asked, but the little thumbnail when taking a picture within iMessage isn't working for me. Can you no longer open the camera full-screen?

Device? On my iPad pro there's a camera button right next to the mini viewfinder. On my SE there isn't enough room for that but there's an arrow to the left of the viewfinder that opens a panel with that button. That will take you full screen

iPhone, but yes - thank you! Had no idea that little arrow was even a button. I'm forever grateful.
