I hate updates. Apple is no better than Microsoft! I put off updating to Catalina until I couldn't stand the forced dialog to update any more. Now my printer can't be used. I researched this and it's a gatekeeper feature that Apple has determined we can't live without. I found a help site that says just right click on the file in Preferences and the app will work. But there is nowhere in security to click. I just get this dialog shown below. Any suggestions on how to get my printer to work again?

If you see this warning, it means that the app was not notarized, and Apple could not scan the app for known malicious software. You'll need to wait for Dell to update the app.

Microsoft avoids this procedure by silently uploading files you run to their antimalware service. They constantly nag you if you go into the menus and opt-out, with no way to permanently stop the "alerts". So its a privacy vs hassle question.

I got it. The Dell printer driver/app runs with a few files and the error would happen on each of them. Once I figured out each had to be approved, the printer runs fine now. Sorry about all the trouble and thanks for all the help.
