My magic keyboard and iPad Pro were purchased in late July.

I have not dropped anything, spilled anything, or abused the iPad or the keyboard in any way. It's been babied. I go to start using it today, and the trackpad isn't working. Restart doesn't help.

Charge function works, and the keyboard works. I just have no trackpad.

Is it possible this is a software issue that Apple needs to fix, or am I really going to have to beg Apple to replace it? Has this happened to anyone else?

False alarm - I cleaned the contacts for on the smart connector on both the iPP and the magic keyboard and the trackpad is functioning again.

Hopefully this tip will help someone else down the road who runs into the same issue, because mine didn't appear dirty in the slightest.

How did you clean the contacts? Eraser? Or towel with water? Thanks for the info!

Just used the sleeve of my (dress) work shirt, ha. Probably not the best move but it did the trick. There must have been just enough microscopic dust on there to cause issue.
