Resprings, locks every 30 seconds and getting warm?

my phone started doing this and woke me up ... about every 30 seconds, even while locked, it’ll quit what ever it’s doing, display a spinner for a few seconds and then go back to the lock screen. Even while locked and the screen off, tHe screen will come on to the spinner and then lock screen then auto off. While plugged up and charging, the “plug in to charge” chime sounds - what woke me. It’s also getting pretty warm.

I’ve hard reset it a few times it’s still going on.

A quick search turned up nothing.

Anyone else? Thoughts?
