Have just purchased 2 x Macbooks from Apple refurb, BOTH restart themselves when I close the lid.
Not every time, maybe 1 in every 4 lid closes.
VERY annoying.
I have.. updated battery firmware, and the computer firmware is the most recent.
But they still do it.

Nothing in the console.log file about overheating.

Any ideas? I dont know what to do now except take them back, which is going to be a royal pain in the ass.

mac A) Macbook black 2ghz core 2 duo.
mac B) Macbook white 2.16 ghz core 2 duo 2gb, 667mhz ddr2 sdram. Running OSX 10.4.10

It's strange that both of them do it... What peripherals do you have connected to them? Are you running any specific apps on both of them? have you tried resetting the SMC? 🙂
