Okay, so I've had a little problem for about a year where my iMac will not shut down, restart, or log me out from the Apple Menu. Programs such as Software Update and Installer that normally restart automatically have not done so for the same period.

I've dealt with this by returning to the Account menu through the Fast User Switching menu and then choosing the appropriate command. Then I have to put in my username and password... every time... because I haven't logged out.

I was happy to clone my account to my temp MacBook Pro because I thought that I would be able to do that again...

    WRONG.

I still can't restart or log out from the Apple Menu. Programs that require restarting STILL need to be done manually.

So I'm thinking that this is a problem caused by a preference or setting connected to my account and was wondering what I should delete or mess with to fix it. Thanks.

No one? No one else has had this problem or knows what .plist I should mess with?
