iMac 2020. When I click on shut down, the shut down process seems to be running well: the screen goes black, the computer looks like it has stopped working, but then suddenly it switches on itself (restart).

This has not been happening before, but now occurs frequently.

There is a black screen with big a shutdown icon and a text in a couple of languages that there was a problem while shutting down and computer must restart itself.

Then I have a very long error description panic(cpu 0 caller 0xffffff801aaa2233): "PowerOff timed out in phase 'Notifying power plane drivers' etc.

I have read on the macbook forum they experience similar problem. Has that happened to you? Do you know a sulotion?

Yes, bring it to Apple Service Center.
Buy Apple Care plus for the next 2 years.

I have exactly the same Problem as tomekwsrod and can´t believe that this is an Apple Service Center issue.
I have sent several Panic reports to Apple, unfortunately no response.

- macOS Big Sur, Version 11.3.1
- iMac (Retina 5K, 27", 2020), bought Nov. 10, 2020
- Processor 3,8 kHz 8-core Intel Core i7

- LaCie Rugged THB Thunderbolt as TimeMachine
