Just wondering... How about far into the future there will be Hooters-robots serving food and drinks? I mean...beautiful well-proportioned semi-nude androids

~just kidding, folks! I am too old already to see that day, but some of you may see this 50 years from now.

Every watch the British show called Humans?

Not keen on this trend at all. Don't want to pay a living wage? Replace em with androids. Except that may have unforeseen major costs including financial in the long run. Even in the SW series Andor, we have prisoners (all human) acting as slave labour to build parts* for the Empire and one character stating "they are cheaper than droids".

Parts of the Death Star btw.

Do you think that the regular business owner thinks beyond their business and their industry?

In the end, tasks that require precision with simple repetitive motions are all going to become automated. Reduced costs, reduced errors and increased production are the goal of every owner. All of which, once robots/automation are economical for the owner's industry, will happen.

It is on us as a society to provide education/training for other roles for the displaced workforce. There will always be something else that needs workers...
And it's also on the consumer. If enough stay away and feedback it is because they won't patrionize robots, the restaurant will need to adapt. Same with self checkout. Stay away if you hate it. But I know from working at Wal~Mart that customers just complain with no action. They complain about the lines but return the next night and the next and the next............

I never have to use self checkout even at places that have it only.
