Restore after Leopard upgrade

I have a MB & MBP with tiger on them. If I backup the home folder on them and then do a clean wipe and install of Leopard can i restore all my data even if the backup was done in tiger?

Yes, you can. Most everything in your home directory will be fine (can't think of anything offhand that wouldn't transfer fine). When you first launch some of your programs, they may do an upgrade to your info (like Mail updating everything for the Leopard version), but it will work fine.

Edit: But I recommend using Migration Assistant to get everything back over to the Leopard install.

I would recommend the same. Keep in mind, this would require you to backup your entire disk - NOT just the home folder.
