Restore Application

Hi, my gf lost a very important .pages file, and she desperately needs it, she doesnt use time machine... It isnt on the thrah, its not anywhere.. Is there any kind of app that can restore or restore partially deleted files or jus lost?

Has she tried searching for the file in Spotlight to see if it was simply moved somewhere or saved to a different folder?
